What about skateboarding keeps you interested/skating?
I've always loved how much skateboarding relies on our own desire to get better at it. There is no organized practice or teams, so however far I take skating is based purely on my own ambition.
For you, what is most special about skating?
So much. I love the implicit connection that exists between all skateboarders. Like if I show up to the skatepark and start skating, I can start talking to anyone regardless of if I've met them before; there's just a pre-existing interest that is present since skating is so rooted in expression and culture. Also I love skating transition; there's nothing else that feels like skating transition.
Pro skater, past or present you would most like to skate around with?
Trung Nguyen
Finish this sentence: When you first begin skating, make sure you...
Learn to pump! No need to pop the board until you feel comfortable pumping around a skatepark.
Post skate sess nosh choice?
I don't have one thing I like to eat post skate. Typically I will just open the fridge and find something quick and easy. I love fruit, a good sandwich, pizza, anything really.
One clip/film every skater should watch at some point in their life?
Every Bob Burnquist part--they're all perfect.
One words answers only, Board House is:
stunning
Anything else? Random thoughts? Life changing quotes? Best place to snag a breakfast burrito?
I'm trying to think of something that would be inspirational to a child, but my mind's blank. Maybe just make sure not to take anything you do now as too serious, I spent a long time feeling upset about nasty things I did when I was young, but the truth is that we're meant to do these things when we're young so we can learn before we grow up. I'm not sure this feels too serious, hmm.
