What have you learned about the skateboarding community through BoHo?
Board House has taught me a lot about how much a community with a goal can accomplish. With little resources BoHo has put on incredible events, gained lasting community partners, and empowered youth to try something new and difficult. What Board House has accomplished with the help of the skateboarding community in the last two years shows the dedication and commitment the skateboarding community has to offer.

What is the value of creating and supporting community?
While skateboarding is technically an individual sport requiring only yourself and your board, it’s heavily driven by community. The skate community is tight knit and diverse no matter the persons background, job situation, or lifestyle if there’s a board in hand then you have a homie. From my experience this community has mainly been secluded from the large communities in the areas they exist. Board House has not only brought together the skate community in central Oregon but they have introduced it to the larger communities in our area bringing creative new ideas to events, introducing skateboarding to people who otherwise may have never touched foot on a board, and creating a community that accepts skateboarding as a whole.
